$JOE
The Emoti Guy
The one who stays calm when everyone else panics. Hold with confidence.
The Goal: Bring the Creator Onboard
Before the current relaunch, there was an earlier $Joe token run by a different developer. From the start, the stated mission was simple: Get Dark Whisper (the creator of EmotiGuy) officially onboard so the creator fees/rewards go to him.
Finding Dark Whisper
To reach Dark Whisper, the developer of the earlier token contacted LadyLittlefox on Instagram and asked if she knew him. LadyLittlefox confirms she does know Dark Whisper, but says she hasn't talked to him in over a decade. She also explains that he doesn't have social media, and later provides a private phone contact as a way to reach him.
Since the $JOE community was active on X, the request became:
- Have Dark Whisper create an X account
- So he can interact with the community
- And receive creator fees
Shortly after, the account @Dark_Whisper749 appears.
The First Attempt Went Wrong
In the shared DMs, Dark Whisper explains that the person who originally contacted him told him to stop posting for the moment, and to send his tokens/supply to a new wallet, described as his "official wallet," with the claim that a new CTO submission would be filed using it.
The screenshots also show instructions to "Send all your supply here," "Hit max then press send," and a claim that the sender would provide the private key so Dark Whisper could add the wallet to Phantom.
After Dark Whisper confirms the transfer, he later asks what happened saying the price "went down exponentially."
The Community Rebuild
As confusion spread, Sqn created a new $Joe community on X, stating the goal was to get the fees "swapped" and move forward with the project the right way. In the posted screenshots, Dark Whisper says he was told not to post and to send his tokens. Sqn offers to share the DMs publicly so people understand what happened, and Dark Whisper agrees.
This is the point where the story shifts from the earlier token's direction into a community-led effort to bring things back under the creator's control.
Proof & Early EmotiGuy History
As people asked for proof, Dark Whisper began posting original EmotiGuy context and media. In one post, he shares a personal origin story:
- EmotiGuy originally started as a sunflower-based character
- Inspired by his mom, who said it "creeped her out"
- So he removed the sunflower idea, and EmotiGuy was born
- He also posted what he describes as one of the first EmotiGuy models from 2004
There were no matches when reverse image searching, and people asked for more original images, which Dark Whisper provided.
The Pump.fun Community Takeover Filing
Dark Whisper later publicly thanks Sqn for helping him file a "Community takeover" through Pump.fun, and shares a screenshot of an email response stating the CTO application is on hold while more information is gathered. Shortly after, the CTO claim was denied. Pumpfun support is retarded.
